ChamberlaynePR was created as a result of the need to combine the expertise of messaging, digital marketing and design for the UC San Diego Design Lab. Don Norman, one of the top designers in the world and Apple’s first interface designer, inadvertently helped to create ChamberlaynePR when he needed to promote the importance of design thinking and Design Lab work. Norman combined the expertise of political messaging and campaigns with digital strategies to describe how designers and design thinking are critical drivers of innovation.

Charles Chamberlayne

Charles Chamberlayne is an experienced communicator, connector and expert at developing public engagement strategies. He has done this for businesses, universities, government officials and other high-profile individuals. For over 15 years, Charles has forged invaluable relationships in political, social and business circles from Southern California to the nation’s capital. His resume includes work as a spokesperson and communications strategist for a major U.S. city mayor, three U.S. senators and a speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Drawing from his vast network and professional experience, Charles has the unique ability to create communications tools, brand identity and messaging to attract public support from audiences in political, business, religious and minority groups.

Kevin McGoldrick

Considered the firm’s digital and innovation guru, Kevin McGoldrick is a digital media and marketing strategist. He has over a decade of experience working with a wide range of companies from U.C. San Diego to Ernst & Young. He has worked with over three dozen companies in industries as diverse as engineering, education, retail and video production. And in cities as culturally diverse as Tokyo, Cairo, Doha, New York and Los Angeles. Kevin works to build digital and online brands holistically by developing operational infrastructure and digital networks. Through branded content, digital messaging, and analytical systems he seeks to achieve measurable results for dynamic, positive and lasting change.

Yennie Rautenberg

Yennie Rautenberg is a global corporate communications and executive leadership strategist. Growing up in a Mexican-German family in Mexico City, she blends her global perspective with extensive experience in corporate and executive communications, media relations, reputation management, diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility issues to engineer superior global strategies for clients. Prior to working as a consultant, Yennie served as senior manager for corporate communications at Qualcomm managing global programs in India, Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia. Before Qualcomm, Yennie served as a leader with Porter Novelli, a global public relations firm, working with several Fortune 500 companies including MasterCard, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Nortel, Kyocera and Qualcomm. In addition to her work as a corporate communications strategist, Yennie is an executive and life coach committed to empowering people and organizations in a way that helps them reach their full potential.

Andrew Simmerman

Andrew is considered by many to be a big thinker and facilitator. He has worked in various positions from Los Angeles to New York as a marketing professional, writer and community leader. Andrew takes pride in his ability to help others strategically turn big ideas into big actions. The genesis of his professional ethos started in 2007 working alongside then- startup founder and philanthropist, Blake Mycoskie of TOMS Shoes. As a key member of the TOMS Shoes marketing team, Andrew witnessed firsthand how simple ideas can turn into a global movement. Following his stint with TOMS, Andrew worked in various communications capacities for Teach For America (TFA) and the University of San Diego. Andrew holds a BA in advertising from Pepperdine University and is a graduate of LEAD San Diego’s Impact Class of 2015 and the RISE San Diego Urban Leadership Fellows Program.

Stephania Villar

A strong advocate of community outreach and civic engagement, Stephania applies her passion for grassroots organizing to digital media as a content engagement specialist. A California Bay Area-native, she serves as a marketing production specialist for the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership handling park-wide digital engagement strategies for the 1,200-acre historical park in San Diego. At Balboa Park, one of the oldest parks in the U.S. and larger than New York City’s Central Park, she juggles multiple digital strategy duties involving campaign plan development, content creation, analytic reporting, advertising and troubleshooting. Prior to working for Balboa Park, Stephania has worked in similar positions for various local institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, San Diego Air & Space Museum and Coronado Historical Association. In addition to her professional roles, Stephania also serves as the Vice Chair for Rising Arts Leaders of San Diego. Stephania holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Pitzer College and Master of Arts in Public History from one of the top public research universities in the nation, the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Courtney Henderson

As a one of Monster Energy’s most active and sought-after photographers, Courtney Henderson takes pride in finding and capturing the hidden beauty in ephemeral, yet exceptional human moments. From New York City to New Zealand, Courtney has traveled the world photographing breathtaking beaches, buildings, landscapes, sports and public figures. His portfolio consists of shots of some of the world’s most entertaining figures and brands. This includes famed American professional boxer Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr., Irish mixed martial artist Connor MacGregor, American powerlifter CT Fletcher, American rapper Lil Wayne and iconic international Reebok and Monster Energy brands. A graduate of the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, Courtney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He spends much of his time volunteering his expertise as a photographer with local City of San Diego community civic and nonprofit organizations.
